Love and Marriage in Anatolia

Mine Erbek, costume designer for the State Opera and Ballet Company, focused on the concept of the traditional bridal and trousseau room as she followed changes in Turkish customs and traditions relating to the bath, the barber’s shop, bridal room and trousseau over three periods: the 1900’s, the 1950’s and the 2000’s.

Curated by Prof. Dr. Kıymet Giray, the exhibition consisted of works on the theme of gardens by Yavuz Tanyeli, Tülin Onat, Alev Mavitan, Mehmet Uygun, Saim Erken, Altan Çelem, Özgür Korkmazgil , Şebnem Somer, Nezih Aydın, Barış Sarıbaş, Nur Gürel, Aslı Özok, Pelin Özgeçen, Ayşegül Süer and Burçin Erdi. The exhibition was held in Ankara.
